Halloween is right around the corner and if you celebrate this holiday your child has most likely been talking about what he or she will be. Perhaps they have even changed their mind a dozen times! Halloween is one of those holidays that can be very expensive if you decide to cave into the elaborate costumes but luckily this is not necessary!
3 Tips to save money this Halloween:
1. Local Costume Exchange! Find a local costume exchange where or create your own! October 15, 2010 there is a local costume exchange in Boyne City, MI and best of all it is free, includes pumpkin painting and you don’t have bring a costume to take a costume. Here is how it works:
- If you have older costumes bring them clean and ready for other children to use.
- If you need costumes for your child choose from all of the costumes that are being exchanged and it is FREE.
- Exchange and shop!
- If you do not have a costume to exchange, that is okay too!

3. Make Your Own Costume! Using old items from home a child can become a pirate, ghost, rock star, princess or whatever your imagination holds! Shopping at local resale shops can help accessorize your rock star, pirate or princess for a very low cost!
