Michigan Fatherhood Conference

The Great Start Collaborative and Parent Coalition of Charlevoix, Emmet and northern Antrim counties value the importance of fatherhood. We have updated our resource page to include a special section just for links on fatherhood and we are proud to support the Michigan Fatherhood Coalition. They will be hosting a conference in Howell, Michigan February 19, 2010. Funded with a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation of the State of Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation, our project began in April of 2006. The goal of the project is to form multiple collaborative bodies in the state to begin development of a comprehensive system of early childhood care and education for 0-5 year olds and their families. This system is similar to the Smart Start system of North Carolina and the state of Michigan is receiving technical assistance in our efforts from the state of North Carolina.
