Make Your Own Bubbles

By Director

Bubbles! Bubbles! Bubbles! Children love bubbles but the store bought bubbles can be expensive so try making your own. Your children will love helping you and for more science fun check out this bubbly science website.

Here is how you can make your own bubbles:

1/2 cup of dish detergent.
5 cups of soft water or distilled water.
2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin or light corn syrup or honey (corn syrup or honey attracts the bees so be careful).

Mix this together in a storage container and leave overnight for a minimum of 4 hours.

Have fun counting the bubbles, talking about the colors, making shapes and chasing the bubbles!

About

Funded with a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation of the State of Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation, our project began in April of 2006. The goal of the project is to form multiple collaborative bodies in the state to begin development of a comprehensive system of early childhood care and education for 0-5 year olds and their families. This system is similar to the Smart Start system of North Carolina and the state of Michigan is receiving technical assistance in our efforts from the state of North Carolina.
