How to Deal with Biting

Has your child ever bitten another child? Have you picked your child up from childcare or attend a playgroup and your child has been bitten? What about if you are a child care provider and you have a child that is biting?

Children often feel frustrated and cannot communicate how they are feeling so they bite. Kimberly Clayton Blaine is a MA, MFT National child development expert and licensed child therapist offering some great video tips to help parents and childcare providers having problems with children biting. Funded with a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation of the State of Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation, our project began in April of 2006. The goal of the project is to form multiple collaborative bodies in the state to begin development of a comprehensive system of early childhood care and education for 0-5 year olds and their families. This system is similar to the Smart Start system of North Carolina and the state of Michigan is receiving technical assistance in our efforts from the state of North Carolina.
