Dora Says, “Include ALL LITTLE EXPLORERS in the 2010 Census!”

By Director

The Decennial Census is the most important data collection activity conducted by the Federal Government. The results of the census are used to establish funding formulas for a multitude of programs including many of the programs provided by Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies. The census data is used as the basis for distributing more than $400 billion in federal funds each year. Children, especially children under age six are more likely than any other group to be undercounted. Click here to make every child count in 2010!

About

Funded with a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation of the State of Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation, our project began in April of 2006. The goal of the project is to form multiple collaborative bodies in the state to begin development of a comprehensive system of early childhood care and education for 0-5 year olds and their families. This system is similar to the Smart Start system of North Carolina and the state of Michigan is receiving technical assistance in our efforts from the state of North Carolina.
