Great Start Network

The Great Start Network, previously known as Stepping Stones to School, provides parents with resources that are necessary to assist your child on his or her learning journey. The Great Start Network is a network of services for all families with children between birth and age 5 in the Charlevoix-Emmet Intermediate School District.

The Great Start Network aims to:

  • Connect families with local schools
  • Provide families with resources in their local communities
  • Provides fun and educational opportunities for families
  • Assists with referrals to community agencies

Past Information

About

Funded with a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation of the State of Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation, our project began in April of 2006. The goal of the project is to form multiple collaborative bodies in the state to begin development of a comprehensive system of early childhood care and education for 0-5 year olds and their families. This system is similar to the Smart Start system of North Carolina and the state of Michigan is receiving technical assistance in our efforts from the state of North Carolina.
