CCEP

  • The CCEP program name has been changed from “Child Care Expulsion Prevention” to “Child Care Enhancement Program”; the acronym remains the same (CCEP).
  • CCEP serves children from birth to 36 months who are receiving or are eligible to receive the DHS child care subsidy.   The majority of children who meet these criteria are in informal care, so CCEP is prioritizing efforts to serve relative care providers and day care aides.
  • CCEP now covers every county in Michigan.
  • CCEP offers three levels of service which are further outlined in the “CCEP FY 10 Overview.”

About

Funded with a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation of the State of Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation, our project began in April of 2006. The goal of the project is to form multiple collaborative bodies in the state to begin development of a comprehensive system of early childhood care and education for 0-5 year olds and their families. This system is similar to the Smart Start system of North Carolina and the state of Michigan is receiving technical assistance in our efforts from the state of North Carolina.
